Authors of petitions

  • The author of a petition must comply with laws and ethical standards in effect and respect the rights of others.
  • The author of a petition agrees not to publish content infringing the rights of others or that is in any way defamatory, offensive, insulting, obscene, violent, racist, xenophobic, which encourages violence and/or is generally contrary to laws and ethical standards currently in effect.
  • MyPetition.ch reserves the right, in the event of failure to comply with any of the abovementioned rules, to close the author’s account, without any form of compensation or reimbursement. In the case of a justified claim by a third party, a legal body or association, MyPetition.ch will fully comply with any laws, directives, legal provisions or court orders requesting it provide the identity of anyone suspected of violating these Conditions and ethical standards.
  • The author can delete a petition at any time. In this case, all signatures, related files and forum messages will be definitively deleted from the MyPetition.ch databases.

Signing a petition

  • Personal information that a signatory provides on MyPetition.ch is the responsibility of the user. In providing information, the signatory explicitly agrees to the use of this data by MyPetition.ch and assumes complete responsibility. If a user does not wish to provide such information, he or she should not sign a petition.
  • The list of signatures can only be consulted by the petition’s author. Signatures cannot be viewed by website visitors, transmitted, sold or exchanged with third parties. “Signatures collected” refers to the surnames, first names, addresses and emails of the signatories.
  • In order to avoid spamming, the signatory is free to decide whether he or she wishes to provide his email address to the petition’s creator.
  • “Signatures collected” are deleted from the databases of MyPetition.ch once the petition has expired or if the petition is deleted beforehand by the author.
  • When a user signs a petition, he or she receives a link by email enabling him/her to delete at any time his/her data from the databases of MyPetition.ch

MyPetition.ch

  • Certain functionalities on MyPetition.ch are charged. MyPetition.ch reserves the right to modify or update its pages, services, prices or Conditions of use at any time. Prices and means of payment for different services are accessible up until and at the time the service is presented or used.
  • MyPetition.ch cannot be held responsible for the proper functioning of the third party payment service offered on the site (PayPal.com). In case of malfunction, technical, financial or other problems, PayPal.com bears sole responsibility for any transactions with users.
  • Users visit the site at their own risk. Each author of a petition, signatory or visitor is responsible for his own behaviour and interactions.
  • MyPetition.ch does not guarantee continuous service of the website, without any interruptions or errors. In particular, service can be temporarily interrupted for maintenance purposes, updates, or technical enhancements, or to modify site content or presentation.
  • MyPetition.ch, as well as other parties, can provide links to other websites or web sources. MyPetition.ch cannot be held responsible for the availability of these sites or external web sources and under no circumstances can be held responsible for their content, advertising, products, services or any other element available on or via these sites or external sources.
  • In all cases, the global liability of MyPetition.ch is limited to the amount paid by the petition creator for services giving rise to his/her claim.
  • MyPetition.ch cannot be held responsible for the veracity or exactitude of the information and content posted by signatories and authors of petitions.

These Conditions are governed, interpreted and applied in compliance with Swiss law. Only the courts of Neuchâtel, in Switzerland, will be considered competent in dealing with any claims arising from the present conditions, including but not limited to, their validity, interpretation, execution and/or cancellation and consequences.
